A particularly advantageous design from the manufacturing, use and environmental viewpoints is obtained in a plastic toothbrush in which the essentially rigid brush head is secured via a spring section to the essentially rigid shaft and the spring section is embedded in the plastic in that the spring section consists at least mainly of a plastic with a greater modulus of elasticity than that of the encasing plastic.
