The device for forging rod-shaped parts comprises several pairs of forging tools which shape the body of the rod. Each pair of tools has a narrow cross-section at one end which forges the neck of the part. The forging tools may have narrow cross-sections at both ends to form necks on both ends of the part. The narrow end may be of a linear, curved or stepped shape. The pairs of tools may have overlapping areas.
