FIELD: locksmith's work, devices for locking the doors in rooms. SUBSTANCE: locking device has a casing, crossbar mechanism with a spring-loaded ward installed on its casing, crossbar mechanism positioning mechanism installed on the axle of the turning handle and having a projecting part for engagement with a slot made in the crossbar mechanism casing; the crossbar mechanism positioning mechanism is made as a quill driver mechanism, using a disk rigidly coupled to the handle axle, with uniformly spaced cavities on the periphery, placed between two plates installed on the disk boss and fastened to each other by distance sleeves for rotation relative to the above plates, projecting part made as a dog rigidly coupled to the plates and kinematically coupled to the disk by means of a spring-loaded ball installed in the dog slot and aligned on the casing to prevent the turning of the plates with the god in the extreme withdrawn and extreme pushed-in positions of the crossbar mechanism, as well as a spring-loaded lever with a locking arm engageable with one of the distance sleeves, and driven arm engageable with the operating mechanism.
