The cartridge consists of a cylindrical envelope (2) of a combustible material, at least one support (12), also of a combustible material and covered at least partly by an anti-wear substance, and a positioner for the support relative to the envelope to ensure a free space between the inner surface of the envelope and the anti-wear layer. The support is cylindrical in shape and made from a sheet material, and rests on a radial stop which provides the necessary free space (13), the stop being formed by at least one end cover (3).
