The module includes a light transmitter associated with a first optical lens arrangement, and a light receiver. A fibre connection is associated with a second lens arrangement. A beam splitter is coupled to reduce back reflection. The optical axis of the first lens arrangement is coupled to the optical axis of the transmitter, and the optical axis of the second lens arrangement is coupled to the optical axis of the fibre connection such that the back reflected radiation does not hit the radiation-sensitive part of the light transmitter nor the radiation-sensitive part of the light receiver.
