Process for storage and transport of toluene diamine

An improved process for preparing meta-toluene-diamines for storage and/or transportation in large containers comprises: (a) mixing 5-15 wt.% demineralised water with an anhydrous meta-toluene-diamine isomer mixt., obtd. by the fractional distn. of a reaction prod. generated by the hydrogenation of dinitrotoluene, at >=200 [deg]F to substantially reduce the freezing pt. of the isomer mixt.; and (b) adjusting the final temp. to below the bubble pt. of the prod.
