FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particular, production of refined ferrosilicon with content of aluminum not in excess of 0.5%. SUBSTANCE: to achieve fuller oxidation of aluminum and to reduce the costs of the refining process, common ferrosilicon with the content of aluminum within 1.0-3.0% is melted in electric arc furnace, and slag from roll scale, converter and/or blast furnace slag is formed above the melt. The mass is heated and held at the temperature which exceeds the melting point of ferrosilicon by 80-150 C. Created in slag with basicity of 0.5-1.5 is oxidizing potential for oxidation of aluminum whose value is proportional to the amount of oxygen stoichimetrically required for additional oxidation to the desired concentration with coefficient 1.0-2.0. EFFECT: production of high-quality ferrosilicon with aluminum content within 0.5% for production of transformer steel on a commercial scale with reduced costs of the process of refining of ferrosilicon from aluminum by 3-4%, efficient utilization of rolling production wastes (roll scale), converter and blast-furnace slags. |
