Multi-priority level scheduler adapted to initialize a task amongst a plurality of tasks defined by an associated routine, and including an unconditional jump instruction (GOTOM) executed in a single machine cycle for branching the scheduler to the first instruction of the routine associated to the highest priority task to be performed amongst the plurality of tasks where each task is assigned to a predetermined active bit position of a register (72), the contents of the position being set to 1 if the corresponding task is to be performed, and the execution of the unconditional jump instruction (GOTOM) consisting in determining in a single machine cycle the first active bit position of the register set to 1 from one predetermined end (right or left), the first bit position set to 1 corresponding to the highest priority task to be performed.
