Flush mounted box for electrical apparatus

The box (20) comprises a body (21) and a retaining and locking device for holding the box in its support. The retaining mechanism consists of movable staples (24), whilst the locking action is provided by screws (22) which move the staples when turned. The staples (24) may be made in one piece with the body of the box using injection moulded synthetic material. The staples include a stirrup (24b) consisting of a weakened region of reduced thickness. This structure allows the stirrup to separate from the box when screw is tightened.
