The display unit consists of a base (1) and two side walls (10). The base comprises a central panel to which the side walls are connected by telescopic extensions with interlocking teeth (4, 13). The inner surfaces of the side walls have projections (21) which allow display units to be stacked on top of one another. After the unit has been set to the required length - so that it holds an exact number of product containers - its front edge is covered by a clip-on strip (19) to conceal the telescopic joints.
