PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition by combining 4,5-dichloro-2-n-octyl-3- isothiazolone with e.g. 2-methylthio-4-t-butylamino-6-cyclopropylamino-s-triazine. CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by combining 4,5-dichloro-2-n- octyl-3-isothiazolone as a 1st component with, as a 2nd component, at least one compound selected from 2-methylthio-4-t-butylamino-6-cyclopropylamino-s- triazine and N,N-dimethyl-N'-phenyl-(N'-fluorodichloromethylthio)sulfamide, and is esp. useful for coating in the marine, industrial and construction fields. The weight ratio of the 1st component to 2nd component of about (60:1) to about (1:500) affords synergistic effect. This composition may include an emulsifier and water, and also a film-forming polymer. It is recommended that this composition is used in the form of coating material, elastic coat, mastic, adhesive, sealant, caulking or varnish. |
