PURPOSE: To provide a new heterocyclic derivative or its pharmacologically permissible salt exhibiting excellent ACAT inhibitory action and lipid peroxidation inhibiting action and useful as an ACAT inhibitor and a lipid peroxidation inhibitor. CONSTITUTION: This heterocyclic derivative is expressed by formula I [either one of R<1> to R<4> is NHCOR<6> (R<6> is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl, an arylalkyl, a heterocyclic group, etc.,) and the other three are each H, an alkyl or an alkoxy; R<5> is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, a cycloalkylalkyl, an aryl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl, etc.; (m) is 1 or 2] or its pharmacologically permissible salt, e.g. 1-butyl-3-(1-hexyl-4, 6-dimethylindolin-5-yl)urea. The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by reacting an amine of formula II (R<11> to R<13> are each H, an alkyl or an alkoxy) with an isocyanate of formula R<7> NCO or reacting the compound of formula II with a compound of formula R<6> -COX (X is a halogen) or reacting an isocyanate of formula III with an amine of formula HNR<7> R<8> .
