PURPOSE: To obtain the subject ink without causing deterioration with the lapse of time even if a large amount of a color former is contained, producing bubbles or dissolving electrodes even by lowering the AC frequency of a voltage to be applied to the electrodes by blending a specific compound and specifying the resistivity. CONSTITUTION: This ink for ink jet is obtained by blending (A) a color former (e.g. an azo-based compound or carbon black) with (B) an additive (e.g. a wetting agent or a surface tension regulator), (C) a solvent capable of dissolving the components (A) and (B) (e.g. water or an alkyl alcohol) and further (D) a compound of the formula (R1 to R3 are each H, CH2 OH, etc.; X is a halogen, ClO4 , etc.) (e.g. monoethanolamine sulfate or pyridine sulfate) and has 8-35Ω.cm, preferably 15-25Ω.cm resistivity at 25 deg.C. An antifungal agent is further preferably blended in the ink. The ink preferably has <=3cP viscosity, 30-40 dynes/cm surface tension and pH7-8. |
