<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the damage of an apparatus caused by the conveyance of recording mediums and surely detect a paper jam during the automatic paper discharge. CONSTITUTION: The MPU of a controller section CONT judges whether the recording medium set to the conveyance jam state on a conveyance path is automatically dischargeable or automatically undischargeable based on the detected states by a paper feed sensor 68 and a paper discharge sensor 69 and the conveyance jam state different from that stored in the RAM of the controller section CONT. When the MPU of the controller section CONT judges that the jammed recording medium is automatically dischargeable, it controls the drive of a pickup roller 60, a registration roller 61, and a paper discharge roller 66 to discharge the recording medium stopped on the conveyance path in the jam state to the outside of a machine.</p> |
