<p>PURPOSE: To provide a prerefining method capable of using relatively large scrap, more specifically scrap having a width or thickness of >=100m as a cold iron source. CONSTITUTION: The scrap having the width or thickness of >=100mm is used as the cold iron source and the next dephosphorization treatment is executed while the scrap 10 remaining without melting after the dephosphorization treatment is kept remaining in oxygen refining equipment in the prerefining method of executing the dephosphorization treatment of the molten iron 5 while melting the cold iron source 7 by using the oxygen refining equipment of a converter type having a top blowing lance 1 and bottom blowing tuyeres 9. The prerefining method referred to in this invention is not limited to the dephosphorization treatment of the molten iron and the execution of the dephosphorization treatment in parallel with a desiliconization treatment and the execution of the desulfurizing treatment after the dephosphorization treatment are equally well.</p> |
