<p>PURPOSE: To prevent a curved part formed at the outer periphery of a sponge retard roller from having permanent deformation at the time of feeding a sheet material. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a retard roller connection/ disconnection mechanism 300 which allows a sponge retard roller 51 to be connected and disconnected to/from a feed roller 6. When a paper feed signal is inputted in a CPU305, the retard roller connection/disconnection mechanism 300 permits an electromagnetic solenoid 304 to be kept in an ON condition, so that a moving arm 302 forced by a forcing spring 303 brings the sponge retard roller 51 into contact with the feed roller 6. When the paper feed signal has not been inputted in the CPU305, the electromagnetic solenoid 304 is kept in an OFF condition, so that the moving arm 302 which has pushed up the sponge retard roller 51 goes down, and the sponge retard roller 51 also goes down by its own weight and is disconnected from the feed roller 6, thereby opening the curved part of an outer periphery.</p> |
