<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the dielectric breakdown between the electrodes of an electrostatic air cleaner. CONSTITUTION: Negative electrode support plates 53a, 53b are fitted in the vicinity of the gas inflow port 51 and gas outflow 52 of a main body 50 and supported by the insulating support members 54a, 54b attached in the vicinity of four corners of the bottom wall 50c and upper wall 50d of the main body 50. Screw rods 55 forming negative electrodes are parallelly arranged to the negative electrode support at regular intervals vertically to be fixed by nuts. A plurality of electrode plates 57 are fitted between the screw rods parallelly and vertically. The leading ends of the hoses extended from the air supply pump installed outside the main body are arranged in the vicinity of the support members. Since air is blown out of the leading ends of the hoses even when the moisture in the gas supplied into the main body is condensed, the insulation of the support members is not damaged and the removal operation of fine particles in gas due to ionization is not prohibited.</p> |
