<p>PURPOSE: To prevent an entire bottle from irregularly deforming when filled with a pressured liquid by providing a plurality of vertical grooves for bending a body wall inward to pass through a narrowed part on a biaxially drawn- oriented polyester bottle having the narrowed part on a body and coupling the respective vertical grooves with specific interval walls. CONSTITUTION: A biaxially drawn-oriented polyester bottle for holding a pressured liquid with self-generated pressure such as a carbonated drink or beer comprises a narrowed part 2 on a body 1 having a nearly circular cross section and a plurality of string-like vertical grooves 3 for bending a body wall inward to pass through the narrowed part 2. The respective vertical grooves 3 are coupled with one another with an interval wall 4, while a radius of each interval wall 4 is larger than a basic radius. In addition this polyester bottle has a mouth 11 on an upper part and a shoulder 12 expanded below the mouth 11, while it has a bottom 13 formed in a semi-sphere with pressure resistance considered, and a bowl-like support 5 is mounted outside the bottom 13 to make the bottle stand by itself.</p> |
