PURPOSE: To enable the smooth exchange of a catheter without using a guide wire for exchange and extension by constituting a main internal cavity in such a manner that a tubular body for treatment or guide wire are insertable or liquid, etc., are injectable into the body, auxiliary internal cavities in such a manner that liquid and gas are injectable into balloons and the balloons in such a manner that the inside of the main cavity is closed. CONSTITUTION: This catheter has a front end and base end and has the main internal cavity 5 and at least one auxiliary internal cavities 8 extending in the axial direction between the front end and the base end. The main internal cavity 5 is capable of inserting the tubular body for treatment and/or the guide wire or the liquid, etc., into the body and the balloons 81 disposed at the front end of at least one auxiliary inner cavities 8 are inserted from a hole 611 of a first layer 61 into the main internal cavity 5 side. The front end side ends thereof are embedded from the hole 612 of the first layer 61 into a second layer 62. The auxiliary inner cavities 8 are capable of injecting the liquid or gas to expand or shrink the balloons 8. The balloons 81 are thus so constituted as to exist at the front end of the main internal cavity 5 and to close the main internal cavity 5. |
