<p>PURPOSE: To take out metal in fly ash under the state of highly concentrated intermetallic compounds to recycle it by, when fly ash is melted in a melting furnace, adding metal having high affinity to volatile heavy metal to the fly ash and separating the volatile heavy metal together with the added metal from a slag layer. CONSTITUTION: When fly ash and a copper scrap material are fed into a melting furnace 1 through a feeding port 14 from a fly ash feeding means 2 and a reaction additive feeding means 3 respectively, heat of the molten material interposed between an electrode bar 12 and a base metal 13 is transferred to the fed material X, which is melted. In this case, when metal such as copper having high affinity to volatile heavy metal is added, the volatile heavy metal such as Zn forms intermetallic compounds, which are taken in the added metal, copper. Since these intermetallic compounds are heavier than a salt layer (a) and a slag layer (b), they are separated from the slag layer (b) based on the difference in specific density and are turned into a concentrated layer (c) accumulated between the slag layer (b) and the base metal 13. The accumulated intermetallic compounds are taken out of a separated material outlet 18.</p> |
