<p>PURPOSE: To provide a stent which is woundable to a spiral form of a small diameter around the front end of a catheter, has a shape approximate to complete roundness when expanded in diameter, is kept at a shape expanded to overcome an external pressure in spite of action of this pressure thereon and is capable of assuring the flow passage in the constricted part of the tubular tissues, such as blood vessels and the gullet. CONSTITUTION: This stent 1 is formed by inserting a metallic plate P in a finely wound state into the constricted part 2a of the tubular tissues 2 and expanding the winding beginning end 3A and winding terminal part 3B of the metallic plate P to assure the tubular cavity 2b of the tubular tissues 2 so as to superpose the 3A and the 3B. Both end edges 4A, 4B of the winding beginning end 3A and winding terminal part 3B are inscribed to saw tooth shapes of approximately the same shapes superposed at the same width in a circumferential direction on each other, by which the stent is formed.</p> |
