PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new DNA coding a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence and capable of binding to the receptor of a proto-cancer gene product: MPL, searched from the library of a cDNA expressed in a human fetal liver, and giving a factor for controlling the hematopoiesis. CONSTITUTION: This new DNA codes a peptide having an amino acid sequence containing an amino acid sequence of the formula and having a property for binding to the receptor of a MPL protein coded in a proto-oncogene c-mpl, is obtained by screening the library of a human fetal liver-expressing cDNA, and is useful for producing the MPL receptor affinity peptide having an action for controlling the hematopoiesis of megakaryocyte and capable of being utilized as a factor for controlling the hematopoiesis of the megakaryocyte. The DNA is obtained by synthesizing the cDNA in the presence of a human fetal liver- originated mRNA as a template, producing the library of the cDNA, screening the library with a probe, and subsequently recovering the DNA from the obtained positive clone. |
