PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing water-proofing cloth having a water-proofing sewing structure, improved in waterproofness, excellent in durability and exhibiting soft feeling. CONSTITUTION: Water-proofing cloth A is obtained by laminating a thermoplastic resin coating film 1 having permittivity of 3.5-3.9 and dielectric power factor of 0.02-0.04 at the impressed frequency of 1×10<6> HZ and at 20 deg.C and melting point of 140-200 deg.C on a fiber base cloth 2. The edge parts of the obtained water-proofing cloth A1 and A2 are piled up on each other in such a manner that the thermoplastic resin layers face to each other. A hot-melt seal material 3a having permittivity of 4.0-4.7 and dielectric power factor of 0.05-0.13 at impressed frequency of 1×10HZ and at 20 deg.C and melting point of 85-115 deg.C is applied on the overlapped parts and the overlapped parts are sewn together. One of the water-proofing cloths A1 is turned along the sewing line. The turned part is applied with a sealing material 3b having the same properties as the hot melt seal material 3a and hemmed. Finally, the sewn parts are bound together with pressurized melt adhesion by a high-frequency welder.
