PURPOSE: To clean a screen without impairing safety by applying ultrasonic waves having specified frequency and power density to a screen for separating powder which is immersed in liquid. CONSTITUTION: In case a screen of which a screen net and its supporting frame are integrally formed and for separating powder or the like including powder of <=10μm particle diameter is washed, ultrasonic waves having 20-40kHz frequency and 0.5-1.0W.cm<-2> power density are applied to the screen which is immersed in liquid. At this time, time for applying the ultrasonic waves is 1-15min., and the liquid is water or organic solvent at about 15-30 deg.C. Further, the powder is the one containing powder of sintered hard alloy or ceramics or the like. On the other hand, the mesh opening of the screen net is <=100μm. In a washer, a supporting member 7 for a screen 8 immersed in washing liquid 9 is fitted in a washing tank 5, and also an ultrasonic oscillator 6 is fitted in the bottom part of the washing tank 5. The device is driven and controlled by a driving device 10 and a controller 11.
