PURPOSE: To obtain an indicator for measuring a peroxide decomposing substance useful for enzyme immunoassay, having excellent sensitivity, shelf stability and measuring accuracy, by mixing an indicator containing a peroxide in an aqueous medium withγ-cyclodextrin and a nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION: This indicator for measuring a peroxide decomposing substance is obtained by dissolving (A) a peroxide and (B) a benzidine-based colorant (content, preferably 0.01-5mg/ml) such as 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine in an aqueous medium, is capable of measuring (C) a peroxide decomposing substance such as a peroxidase by coloring of the component B following by the reaction between the component A and the component C and is further mixed withγ-cyclodextrin (preferably 0.01-5mg/ml) and a nonionic surfactant, more preferably a cationic surfactant and an amine polyacetate (salt). The indicator is preferably used for a reagent kit.
