PURPOSE: To obtain the derivative, represented by a specific formula, having antagonistic actions on blood platelet activating factors and useful not only as an antithrombotic agent but also as a preventing and therapeutic agent for asthma, peptic ulcer, nephropathy, hypertension, etc. CONSTITUTION: This derivative of the formula X is formyl, hydroxymethyl, CH2 OCOR<a> [R<a> is R<1> , OR<2> , NR<3> R<4> (R<1> to R<4> are each a 1-8C alkyl, a (substituted) 6-10C aromatic, a heterocyclic or an aralkyl comprising a (substituted) aromatic ring and a 1-4C alkyl)] or CH2 OR<b> [R<b> is a (substituted)1-8 C alkyl or a (substituted)heterocyclic group]; Y is >C=O or >CH-OH}. Furthermore, the derivative is obtained from a cultured product of a strain belonging to the genus Phoma (FERM BP-4175) and has the physical properties as follows: properties of the substance: colorless needlelike crystal; melting point: 157 deg.C; molecular formula: C20 H32 O3 , etc. |
