An automatic device and method for individually reloading a screw disc launcher. The device is mounted on a base and comprises a frame which can be lowered to place the launcher in the reloading position. The device comprises a launcher counter-plate raising member such that lowering the frame supporting the launcher causes frictional raising of the counter-plate into a position in which the launcher can be reloaded. The device also comprises two chains with projections supporting the screw discs to be loaded, wherein the movement of said chains places the disc to be loaded in front of the launcher nose. The device further comprises a reloading arm for guiding all the screw discs, which arm urges the disc to be loaded onto the launcher nose via a multi-leaf nose and by means of its own back-and-forth motion, before said launcher is raised by the frame into the operative position.
