A scan with the pulse sequence proposed comprises the following steps: a) an excitation phase during which time-staggered high-frequency exciter pulses (RF1) with different frequencies are beamed in under the action of a layer-selection gradient (GS), b) the excited nuclear spins thus produced are phase-coded and refocussed in the layer-selection direction by time-staggered high-frequency refocussing pulses (RF2) and a second gradient (GS3), c) refocussing gradients (GSR) are switched in, in the layer-selection direction, between the nuclear-resonance signals (5) thus produced.
