POLYMERS FUNCTIONALISED WITH AMINO ACIDS OR AMINO ACID DERIVATIVES, METHOD FOR SYNTHESISING SAME, AND USE THEREOF AS SURFACTANTS IN COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS, PARTICULARLY NAIL VARNISHES

A chain termination functionalised polymer of formula (1), wherein polymeric chain (P) is a hydrophobic chain produced by the radical polymerisation of at least one monomer, R is a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched hydrocarbon chain containing 1-8 carbon atoms and being optionally substituted by at least one group selected from CO2H, NH2, OH or an optionally substituted phenyl group, A and B, which are the same or different, are each a single bond, a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched hydrocarbon chain containing 1-16 carbon atoms and optionally including an amide function, or a peptide chain including 2-4 amino acids, particularly natural amino acids, and the COOH and/or NH2 groupings are in free or salt form. The use of such products as surfactants and specifically as wetting and dispersing agents for solid particles, as well as for preparing polymer microdispersions, particularly microgels and microlatices, is also disclosed. In addition, cosmetic compositions containing said products, particularly nail varnishes, are disclosed.
