The learning toy comprises a base (3) containing a pressed-on problem area (4). A non-creasable flexible or stiff transparent foil (7) can be folded over the edge (5) of the base (3). A set of elements which can adhere to the base is designed so that each element contains on the adhesive surface further symbols. At least one of the elements has the solution to the problem on the visible face remote from the adhesive face. To solve the problem several elements are to be applied and their further symbols set on the adhesive surface so that they produce a complete symbol with the correct solution.
