Travel route guidance device for electric vehicle

The route guidance device has a data input (4) for entering one or more target locations along the journey, with a computer (2) calculating a number of possible routes from the current location using the stored road network. The amount of energy required for the vehicle to travel each part of the route is calculated and used together with the quantity of energy which can be stored by the vehicle and the known locations of the energy supply points, to select the most appropriate route, which is fed to a route display (5).
