Non-pressurised drinks container detection system for quality control

The detection system uses a fluid directed against the container being passed through a quality control station, with detection of the resulting container deformation, for comparison with a threshold value, to allow a non-pressurised container indication to be provided when the detected deformation is above a threshold value. Pref. respective air pulses are directed onto opposite sides of the tested container in succession, with the detected deformations, pref. obtained via a laser displacement sensor, combined for comparison with the threshold value.
