Panorama X-ray imaging device for dental patient's jaw

The imaging device uses an X-ray source moved in a circular path around the head if the patient and a corresponding detector receiving the X-ray radiation passing through the head. The detector has a recording medium recorded tangential to the rotation curve and provided by a charge-coupled memory element coupled to a scintillation element via an optical coupling element. The read out of the memory element is controlled to provide a serial read-out rate matched to the incident image at the reception slit of the detector, with the read-out width corresponding to the width of the incident X-ray beam.
