The fastener (10), to be inserted into a receiving hole (12) in a panel (14), has a cylindrical body with a longitudinal axis (16) and a straight bore (20) through the body with an axis (22) that is inclined relative to the axis (16) of the body. In another type of fastener (110), the fastener (110) has a body formed of cylinders (114, 116) that are joined end-to-end and have axes (120, 122) that are inclined relative to each other. One cylinder (116) is a right cylinder. A straight bore (118) passes through both cylinders (114, 116) such that the bore axis (120) is aligned with the right cylinder (116). Generally, the axis (120) of the straight bore (118) is perpendicular to the panel surfaces (126, 128) and the axis (122) of the inclined cylinder (114) is inclined at between 5 DEG and 60 DEG relative to the bore axis (120). The axis of the receiving hole (124) is aligned with the axis (122) of the inclined cylinder (114). When the fastener (110) is inserted into the panel (112), the inclination of the receiving hole (124) cooperates with the fastener body to prevent rotation and provide an axial holding force when a fastener bolt is threaded into the fastener (110).

|
