The disposable electric filter (1), used to purify contaminated air, contains two electrodes (2, 3) separated by a gap and connected to positive and negative (or earth) potentials, comprising at least two strips (4, 5) wound-up into a rectangular, square, oval or circular shape, leaving a set distance between the two strips. Shape and function of filter can be easily changed. The distance between the strips and the position of wound-up strip shapes is determined and maintained by at least one wire mesh secured onto the end edge sides of the shape. Each strip forms a unit (25, 26) which can be moved in or out perpendicular to the wind direction of the strip. Preferably the strips are, e.g. metal, paper or plastic material, optionally impregnated with, e.g. phenolic resin, and coated with or containing electrically conductive material, e.g. carbon powder. |
