PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcontroller which reduces power consumption and/or radio frequency interference of an external line when an action is performed only inside. SOLUTION: In its extended mode, a microprocessor 100 is connected to an external address bus 1, a data bus 4, a clock line 3 which is necessary to accept access to external memory, a register and other peripheral equipment and other lines like a read/write line 2, etc. A microcontroller 100 contains a selector 8 that selects which it should access between internal resource and external one and a controller 5 which controls an external line or a bus according to which resource should be accessed between internal and external ones and saves power by freezing the external line and the bus when they are not used. |
