COORDINATE INPUT DEVICE AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PURPOSE: To provide the coordinate input device and its control method which are low in power consumption and high in throughput. CONSTITUTION: Once the device for coordinate input is started up by inputting vibration pulses in specific cycles, initial setting is done first (s110) and a reference line consisting of two orthogonal straight lines is displayed. An operator performs input operation by tracing the reference line (s112-s114). Then the error between the inputted track and reference line is calculated and the cycles of the pulses are made short when the error is large or long when small. Consequently, the power consumption is suppressed without lowering the input precision and unnecessary coordinate points need not be processed, so efficient processing can be performed.
