PURPOSE: To provide an optical recording material and manufacture thereof having a simple structure and enabling a quantity of transmitted light and a quantity of reflection light to be weighed, moreover, to be erased. CONSTITUTION: The optical recording material is such that semiconductor fine particles and/or metallic fine particles are dispersed in glass, further, a total density of the semiconductor fine particles and/or metallic fine particles is 0.1% or more and 50% or lower, and it is preferably 0.1% or more and 10% or lower. The semiconductor fine particles are a 2-6 group compound semiconductor such as cadmium telluride, cadmium selenide, and zinc sulphide, a 3-5 group semiconductor such as GaAs, and a 4 group semiconductor such as Si. |
