PURPOSE: To obtain superior magnetostrictive characteristics and also to stably obtain superior magnetostrictive characteristics and iron loss characteristics even in the case where there's a variance particularly in Si content, e.g. in a sheet-thickness direction. CONSTITUTION: The nonoriented silicon steel sheet, which has a composition consisting of, by weight, 1-10% Si or 1-10% (Si + sol.Al), preferably 4-8% Si or 4-8% (Si + sol.Al), and the balance essentially Fe and in which, among the magnetic domains appearing to the surface of the steel sheet, the area ratio of the magnetic domains where the direction of magnetization is parallel to a rolling direction or forms an angle of <=20 deg. with the rolling direction is regulated to >=15%, can be obtained. |
