<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method for removing remaining iron which reduces slag quantity remaining in a trough for removing the remaining iron and can remarkably reduce working man-hours for cleaning. CONSTITUTION: A first removing hole 11 is arranged at the lower part of the side wall 2a of the large trough, and a second removing hole 12 is arranged at lower than the boundary part between molten iron 8 and molten slag 7 stayed above the first removing hole, and refractories are beforehand packed into two removing holes and closed. Firstly, the molten slag is removed from the second removing hole 12, and after completing the removal of the molten slag, the molten iron is removed from the first removing hole 31. By this method, since firstly, the molten slag is removed and thereafter, the molten iron having high heat capacity is removed, the slag does not remain in the trough 10 for removing the remaining iron, and the frequency for cleaning the slag and the working man-hours for cleaning can remarkably be reduced.</p> |
