<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of the performance of a triboelectric charge imparting member even when the member is continuously used over a long period of time and to make it possible for the member to impart superior negative chargeability to a toner by incorporating one or more kinds of specified compds. into at least the surface of the member. CONSTITUTION: One or more kinds of compds. represented by formula I are contained in at least the surface of a member. In the formula I, X is a group represented by formula II, III or IV, Y is 2-8C alkylene, and alkyl, halogen substd. alkyl, aryl or halogen substd. aryl may be substd. for each C atom of the 2-8C alkylene. In the formulae II-IV, A is an electron withdrawing group and each of R1 and R2 is H, halogen, alkyl, etc. The compds. can be applied to a conveying member such as a carrier, a developing sleeve or a doctor blade and other triboelectric charge imparting member, have mechanically satisfactory strength and can impart triboelectric charge imparting property to the members.</p> |
