TRAVELING ROUTE GUIDE SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To obtain such guide information as corresponding to the actual scene on a traveling route which is required by a driver at the time of actual driving. CONSTITUTION: Based on a current position and a traveling speed of a driver's own vehicle detected by a detector 1, a unit 3 calculates a predicted display position corresponding to a predetermined predicted display set time. Based on a basic schematic diagram of scene at each intersection, an unit 5 prepares a predicted display diagram which changes from the predicted display position during the display time. The predicted display diagram and a route guide prepared at the unit 3 are delivered again to a head up display 7 in synchronism with the display timing. The head up display 7 projects them onto the front glass of the vehicle. A driver can see the outline diagram of actual scene superposed on the actual scene.
