PURPOSE: To improve conversion efficiency by displaying input characters, which are surely to be represented in KATAKANA(square form of Japanese syllabary),as KATAKANA characters. CONSTITUTION: When HIRAGANA(cursive form of Japanese syllabary) characters 'TOUKYOU' are inputted, the HIRAGANA character string 'TOUKYOU' is reversed and displayed at the lower stage on a display 4. When a sonant mark key is operated successively to the input of 'U', a KATAKANA character 'VU' corresponding to the character 'sonant of U' obtained by adding a sonant mark to the character 'U' is read out of a KATAKANA conversion information table and stored in an undetermined character memory, and a converted character string 'TOUKYOVU' in an undetermined state is displayed. |
