PURPOSE: To eliminate the futile use of a recording paper at the time of adjusting a staple position and a useless staple operation for the recording paper in a normal copy by inhibiting the staple operation for the recording paper in the normal copy with a staple control means and executing the staple operation for the recording paper in a staple trial copy. CONSTITUTION: The recording paper carried to a stapling device 1902 is carried thereinto through a sheet receiving port 2101. A staple switching pawl 2102 changes over a carrying path according to a mode and when a staple mode is not obtained, the recording paper is immediately ejected into a staple ejection tray 2111. When the staple mode is obtained, the recording paper is carried to the side of a staple carrying path 2104. The recording papers after passing through the carrying path 2104 are fed to a staple tray 2106 by an aligning brush 2105 and aligned by a jogger 2107 and the aligning brush 2105. After that, the recording papers are stapled by a stapling unit 2108. |
