CONSTITUTION: A compd. represented by formula I is contained. In the formula I, X is a group represented by formula II, III or IV, Y is 2-8C alkylene, and alkyl, halogen substd. alkyl, aryl or halogen substd. aryl may be substd. for each C atom of the 2-8C alkylene. In the formulae II-IV, D is H or an electron donative group and each of R1 and R2 is H, alkyl, substd. sulfinyl, etc. The compd. is synthesized as a colorless stable compd. not contg. a metal such as Cr harmful to the environment and capable of imparting satisfactory electrostatic charge characteristics to a toner and is the objective superior toner is obtd. by using the compd. as an electric charge controlling agent.
