PURPOSE: To simplify the configuration of a reflection type optical fiber address detector utilizing an optical fiber time delay line on which a metal membrane is deposited. CONSTITUTION: Since this optical fiber address detector is constituted by connecting optical fiber delay lines 2a-2d deposited with metal membranes 4a-4d on cross sections on one side to optical fiber couplers 1a-1x, an input address optical signal is separated by an input optical fiber coupler, reflected on the membrane at the terminal of optical fiber delay lines 2a-2d and then recoupled by the input optical fiber coupler. Therefore, the number of optical fiber couplers required for constituting the conventional optical fiber address detector is decreased by half but the same address detection characteristics can be provided. |
