<p>PURPOSE: To provide a safe which can enhance the possibility of being taken back even from a theft or the like, and which can prevent cash therein from being used even though it cannot be taken back from a theft. CONSTITUTION: In a safe 1 incorporating a housing composed of a body 2 and a lid 3, and a locking mechanism 5a composed of a key and a dial, for storing therein cash, negociatable securities, documents and the like, a fingerprint reading part 7 reads a fingerprint, and as a result, a control unit 6 identifies thus read fingerprint with fingerprint data of a designated person which has be previously stored in memory, and controls an electronic lock 6b in accordance with the result of the identification. That is, the locking mechanism 5a is unlocked, and then the electronic lock 6b is unlocked when the control unit 6 determines coincidence of the fingerprint. However, the electronic lock 5b is held in its lock condition if the fingerprint is not coincident with the stored data.</p> |
