PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a breaker with a smaller number of components by designing a pusher member in the breaker to convert its rectilinear motion at its driving end into its step motion at its working end in consideration of the snap movement of a movable contact in the breaker from its closed state to open state and vise versa. CONSTITUTION: The manual application of force F to a breaker to switch it over to its off-position turns a locker member 7 counterclockwise to push a pusher member 5 leftward. A ramp 57 at a cam part 54 on the pusher member 5 consequently moves beyond a step 18 in a case 1 to direct the pusher member 5 downward. That movement affects an operation finger 53 on the pusher member 5 to apply force directed downward to a leaf spring 42 and to separate a movable contact 4 from a fixed contact 3. The separation of the movable contact 4 is snap-based owing to the step 18. For switching over the breaker from its off-position to on-position, on the other hand, the rocker member 7 and its pullback arm 73 are turned clockwise. While the rocker member 7 is situated at the off-position, the arm 73 holds a considerable clearance gap between it and a pullback pin 56 on the pusher member 5. The locker member 7 thus reverts to the off-position with no engagement with the pin 56. |
