METHOD FOR VARIOUS CONTROL OF SURFACE MORPHOLOGY OF ABS TYPE RESIN

PURPOSE: To freely alter the morphology of the rubber particles on the surface of a molded article while arbitrarily controlling gloss/matting by passing a specific ABS resin through a polymer separation and recovery process before applying shearing thereto by a single screw extruder having a Dulmage screw. CONSTITUTION: A raw material containing a styrenic monomer, an acrylonitrile monomer and a rubbery polymer is polymerized and subsequently heated to be introduced into a vacuum chamber to separate the monomers and/or a solvent from a resin component. The separated resin is subjected to injection molding to obtain a molded article (1) and shearing is applied to an ABS resin wherein the area of particles A is 10% or more and that of particles B is 0.01-90% when the total area of rubber particles having the forms of particles A, B difference in long and short diameter ratio in the depth of 0.5-1.5μm from the surface of the molded article (1) is set to 100% by a single screw extruder. By this constitution, the area of the particles B on the surface of the obtained molded article (2) is set to 0-95% when the ratio of the particles B of the molded article (1) is set to 100%.
