PURPOSE: To satisfy all of the degree of freedom of a shape, strength, surface smoothness and shape retention. CONSTITUTION: At first, a resin plate 10 is heated and melted at the end parts in the longitudinal direction of a hollow passage 14 and the terminals of the hollow passage 14 are closed so as to be crushed by jigs 16. Next, the resin plate 10 is heated to specific temp. equal to or higher than the softening temp. of a raw material resin to be set to a hot or cold press mold 28 (upper and lower molds) and formed into a specific shape by press molding or vacuum molding to obtain a head lining base material molded into the predetermined shape. Since the interior of the resin plate 10 is kept airtight, the air in the resin plate 10 becomes the cushion against the resin deformation accompanied by the molding of the resin plate 10 at the time of molding and the softened resin of the resin plate 10 is supported from the interior of the resin plate 10.
